Through the collaborative efforts of the community members and other agencies, Dame Ann Edwards has collated and related historical information to the people of St. Paul’s Parish and the wider communities of Antigua. To acquire knowledge, perceptions and environmental factors which influence the resident’s behavioural patterns and attitude towards their lives and living.
A society that depends on folklore for its source of information will remain underdeveloped because its actions or non-actions are based on beliefs and traditional practices instead of factual occurrences, or better yet, those that are recorded.
Time is the greatest equalizer. No person, race, culture or nation stands beyond its reach or can alter its inevitable progress. Time-lines occurrences recorded, then and now allow us to understand the historical past as the evolution of events and eras.
In the case of the History of St. Paul’s Parish which has on occasion been subjected to subtle distortion, this document is geared to expand your knowledge of the past in order to appreciate the present.
